Her vision is to share a genuine Thai experience with every guest.”- Got this off their website, hopefully they stand by it. I wouldn’t know because I haven’t really tried Thai food in Thailand, but I’ve heard it’s awesome, especially if you’re a fan of street food.

From serving tortillas to stores and restaurants to becoming a fast food chain, Roberto’s has come a long way. Started by Roberto and his wife Dolores Robledo, it was one of the first drive-thru taco shops that served authentic and inexpensive Mexican food.
With over 50 years of experience in the food industry, they finally decided to open up in
Reno on Feb 1, 2016. Started off as a 24-hour restaurant on N. Virginia Street, they closed down by evening on the day of opening. Why? Food shortage! And for all those foodies that are always on the lookout for dining options, there’s no better place to be. We never run out of options here. There are always new restaurants opening up, be it in Midtown or in and around the city. And it just keeps getting an Awful-Awful lot better.

How convenient would it be if everyone of us owned a restaurant where the only person to blame for insipid food would be the customer? Doesn’t sound real does it? Well, Genghis Grill is one of those places. They say,”There’s only one person in charge at Genghis Grill: You. Seize control and build your own bowl.” Voila to the guy who came up with that idea!
I was greeted by a smiling employee, everybody loves a smile! She then walked me through the process of ordering and how everything worked. I was constantly being checked on, water refilled, polite. For a while now I’ve been scouring The Biggest Little City In The World for some authentic Indian food, “Maa Ke Haath Ka Khaana” which is a Hindi phrase for “Mom-made Food.” And finally, after digging around for awhile, I stumbled upon Thali.
Thali offers 100% organic vegetarian food and an experience like no other Indian restaurant in Reno. Its authenticity comes from the owners’ vision of serving completely organic, locally grown food and deliver an authentic experience to their customers. Serj, one of the owners, has pushed the limits by learning and practicing organic farming for a year before stepping into the restaurant business. Reno has come a long way from being just a crossing point of the Truckee river to becoming “The Biggest Little City In The World.” Reno’s nickname is a result of the wide range of cosmopolitan amenities in a city of its relatively small size. And a cosmopolitan city always invites more diversity, which in turn adds value to the city’s culture. Over the course of time, my goal is to try and explore as many cuisines in Reno as possible and map uncharted restaurants (google doesn’t count) so more people know about the awesome treats that Reno has to offer.
En route I-80 west, off Verdi, I stumbled upon a board that read “Maria’s Authentic Mexican Food.” I’ve tried Taco Bell, Del Taco and all these other fast food chains that offer “Mexican Food”, no offense, I do like what they offer, but trying the real deal’s been on my list for a while now. And what better place to run into than a family owned, locally run restaurant with the head chef himself being the owner of the place?

Shawarma has always been one of my favorite wraps to binge on. For the Shawarma virgins, Shawarma (Arabic: شاورما / ALA-LC: shāwarmā;) is a Levantine Arab meat preparation, where lamb, chicken, turkey, beef, veal, carabeef, or mixed meats are placed on a spit , and may be grilled for as long as a day. Shavings are cut off the block of meat for serving, and the remainder of the block of meat is kept heated on the rotating spit. Shawarma can be served on a plate (generally with accompaniments), or as a sandwich or wrap.
