Summer is almost here, and everyone is waiting to show off their hot bods, and chill out. What better place to do it than in the heart of the city? It’s not every day you can strut through town with your swimsuit on. Imagine sliding through a water slide that’s nearly 1000 feet long, that’s the size of almost 3 football fields. And the best part, the slide goes through the streets of Reno!
Slide the City is bringing their massive waterslide to Reno on June 4. The giant, one thousand-foot waterslide and block party planned for Ralston Street is open to all ages.Families, friends and neighbors are invited to take a break from the heat, speeding through three city blocks on inner tubes. The block party will also include food, music, local vendors and street entertainers.
Snack Lunch Production describes their event:
“Usain Bolt will be green with envy once he sees how fast you can cover that much ground. Oh and in case you were wondering, our slide was made right here in the good ole US of A and travels with us throughout the country. We like to think of ourselves as carney workers, without the mullets and the missing teeth. Slide the City is a family friendly slip-and-slide water party event. There will be live music, food, drinks, water, and of course the biggest slip and slide ever to hit asphalt. Don’t worry, we’ve got it padded. This slide’s got more cushion than your grandpa’s orthopedic sneakers.
Make sure to bring your water buckets, floaties, and water guns (non-realistic of course), to squirt, spray, splash, and get all attending soaked.”
Sliding starts at 9 a.m. until noon. Participants can purchase a single, triple or ultimate slider pass and are encouraged to sign up before April 1 before prices go up. A single pass is for one trip down the slide, triple for three and the ultimate is unlimited slides for the whole event. Pricing starts at $10 for early bird and up to $65 for ultimate pass on the day of the event. Online registration is now open. Ticket purchasers receive a wristband, a drawstring bag and a mouth guard. Slide the City requires all participants to slide with an inflatable tube. All those over 5 years old and 46 inches can slide.
Let’s slide the summer heat away!
