Reno, the biggest little city in the world, more like the tallest midget? This “little city” has more to offer than one can imagine. Being a casino town, it never shuts down. It’s always full of life, be it downtown or around the University of Nevada,Reno . The only time that I have seen it slowing down a little is during the snow storms, which by the way, ends with painting the whole town white, the best time to experience Reno’s true beauty.
Surrounded by the Sierra Nevada, one can enjoy it’s scenic views from almost all parts of the city. Located less than an hour away from Lake Tahoe, perfect for a weekend getaway with your friends or family and less than 200 miles away from Sacramento, Oakland, San Francisco or San Jose to get some sun and enjoy the Californian weather. It’s location makes it even more prefect.
That’s Reno in a nutshell. Now, getting to the crux of the matter, Food. Reno has a variety of food and drinks to offer. Be it the steak at Atlantis, the sushi at Sushi Rose, the Picon Punch at the Louis’ Basque Corner or some dessert at the Homage Bakery. There are umpteen choices for the foodies. Being a BIG foodie myself, I plan to explore the huge variety of choices Reno has to offer and break it down to you all in terms of the taste, dining experience, service quality, ambiance, convenience and hopefully try and get some recipes too. Stay tuned as I try and experiment with my “sophisticated” palate and help you make better wining and dining choices.
